A coed, independent, Episcopal day school in Tampa, Florida, educating students in pre-k through twelfth grade

Berkeley Food Pantry

The Berkeley Food Pantry was originally established by members of the Chapel of the Pines Church. When church members could no longer run the pantry, Berkeley stepped in to continue their great work and has been running the pantry since January of 2021. The Berkeley Food Pantry is part of the Feeding Minds school pantry program provided by Feeding Tampa Bay, and it is located near campus on Kelly Road. Our mission is to provide food, clothes, and other necessities to our Town ‘n’ Country neighbors in need.

In 2023, we…

  • served 464 households

  • provided food for 1,136 people, many on a recurring basis

  • distributed approximately 65,450 pounds of food to our neighbors

We serve…

  • 30% Seniors

  • 45% families with children

  • 25% single-person households

The Berkeley Food Pantry is supported by all members of the Berkeley Preparatory School community. Berkeley parents receive the deliveries from Feeding Tampa Bay every other Thursday and organize the delivered food in the pantry. Berkeley faculty and staff restock the pantry shelves every other Thursday afternoon after school. Every other Saturday, Berkeley student volunteers help our patrons shop, pack the food for the patrons, and carry the groceries to patrons’ cars.

The Berkeley Pantry is open every other Saturday from 9-11 a.m.

at 4546 Kelly Road, Tampa, FL 33615.
